Panjin Red Beach, China

The world’s largest wetland, Panjin Beach i’s situated off an estuary in Liaoning, north-eastern China. Spanning over 51 square miles of coastal land, the wetland is also home to more than 260 varieties of birds, including the endangered red-crowned crane, and around 400 species of wildlife. The red color of the beach is because of seepweed, a plant that turns red as it matures in autumn.

Pink Sand Beach, Bahamas

Pigmented by washed-up coral remnants, which are dashed and ground to tiny pieces by the surf, this beach is located on Harbour Island. The pink color of the sand comes from microscopic coral insects, known as Foraminifera, which have a bright pink or red shell full of holes through which it extends a footing, called pseudopodia, that it uses to attach itself and feed. No matter where the pink color comes from, the beach looks exquisite in harmony with the blue sky.
