Bhangarh Fort, India
Bhangarh Fort is situated in the ruined corners of Rajasthan in India. This 17th century fort is infamous all over the world because of numerous ghostly experiences and happenings inside the fort premises. No one can enter this fort after sunset because as per a legend a black magic sorcerer cursed the residents and the queen of the palace that they all would die an unnatural death and their spirits will haunt the fort forever.
He also cursed the town that it would be destroyed and become uninhabitable. Even today, you cannot find any residents around the fort and even the Archaeological Survey of India has forbidden the locals and tourists from entering the fort after dusk. Incidents like ghost of the tantric shouting, a women crying for help, a boy standing alone, and the clinking sound of the bangles have been encountered here often.
Old Changi Hospital – Changi, Singapore
Built in 1935 as a British RAF barracks and hospital, and claimed to be one f the most haunted place sin Singapore, this hospital was used by Kempeitai (the Japenese Secret Police) as a prison and torture camp after the outbreak of the war. The building remained a hospital till 1997 until the construction of the new Changi General hospital. Haunted by Japanese soldiers, people that were executed, and the patients that died in here, this building became a shooting location for 2010 film Haunted Changi.
The crew experienced some real activity such as ghost of a lady that they described as having a “black aura.” Screams, loud bangs, apparitions, shadows, erratic lights and phantom scents are some of the common incidents recorded here. If you are planning to visit this place be prepared to see ghost of an old man walking down the corridors, and a woman walking through the rooms. Also, watch out for the notorious apparitions of kids.
Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa
Built in the 17th century by the Dutch East India Company, Castle of Good Hope seems to have turned into the home of evil spirits. It was in 1915 that the apparition of a tall gentleman was seen on one of the castles’ ramparts. Post that, the same man was seen on a regular basis over a two week period. You might see him jumping off the side of one of the castle walls, and walking between the bastions, Leerdam and Oranje. Gut-wrenching screams, strange voices and footsteps are heard even today by the guards on duty during the dark hours.
As per the common belief in the 1700’s, a soldier was found hanging from the bell rope in the bell tower after which the bell has been known to strike off its own accord. The ghosts of a lady, a black dog and a tall gentleman are often witnessed in the castle.
Island of the Dolls – Xochimilco, Mexico
As per the legend, a girl died on this artificial island after drowning in one of the canals that crisscross it. Julian Barrerra, a man who moved there in the 1950s, was haunted by the spirit of the girl and the girl began speaking to him. She also told Julian how she had died and in order to appease her, he bought several old dolls and hung them around the island.
Julian had told his nephew that the ghost wanted him to join her as a playmate in the afterlife after which his body was found in the canal in 2001 at the same spot where the girl had drowned. Tourists report that ghost of the man is seen on the island during night. The eyes of the dolls also follow people and whisper to them.
Monte Cristo, New South Wales, Australia
Regarded as the most haunted location in Australia, the historic Monte Cristo Homestead recorded a number of tragic deaths, including the death of a young child who was dropped down the stairs. A maid to the Crawley family is believed to have fallen from the balcony, and a stable boy apparently burned to death on the property. After the death of Mrs Crawley, the owner of the house, her ghost haunts the place particularly her former room.
Body-less appartitions, phantom face in the window, floating ghosts, strange voices, flickering lights are few horror experiences of the people. Even the videos of paranormal activity in the house have been recorded a number of times.
