What to know before you go

This is a short and sweet manual for first timers who are excited to explore Leh Ladakh. We want to ensure that you have a shock proof experience during your holiday in Ladakh and avoid those “classic first time mistakes” while you are there. Also, we have listed a few tips and giveaways for you so that you know your destination a tidsy bit better and can enjoy a wholesome vacation with your family and friends. Take note of these little pointers and you are good to go.

  • Under all circumstances, you must consider acclimatization as the most important factor for a successful trip to Ladakh Make sure you are in your best health.
  • Best time to go- April end to September
  • Never underestimate nature especially in Ladakh. Snowfall, landslides and road blocks are very common and unexpected during anytime of your journey. Hence, it is always advised to have a couple of bufferdays in your hand during your trip. A strict schedule is hard to follow in a region like this.high in Bali? Well, don't seriously. You could get sentenced to death!
  • Drive with extreme caution as the terrian of Ladakh is more challenging than you can possibly imagine even for veteran bikers and drivers.. Don't try to be adventurous, it might cost you your life.
  • Make sure you have all medical facilities available just in case anyone gets sick or succumb to the high altitude. DO NOT expect to find medical kid readily available at such altitude. Falling sick can ruin your entire experience.
  • Ladakh is a wonder in itself, so be prepared to lose a part of you behind in this magnetic paradise.
  • Get yourself a BSNL post-paid mobile connection from your hometown before you take off for Ladakh. It works in more places than any other provider. Pre-paid connections do not work at all in most places.
  • Keep multiple photocopies of your driving license, PUC, insurance, vehicle registration papers and PAN, voter-id card or passport. You will find it is far easier to go through military checkpoints if you have everything ready.
  • Try to have simple local food with less spices to stay fit during your trip. Ladakh is a bumpy ride throughout. So, experimenting with food is not a wise option.
