  • Best time to book Scotland holidays- late March-May (Spring), September-November (Autumn)
  • First things first. Don't ever call it England! It's a different country in the UK.
  • Scotland weather is quite finicky. You might get rain, fog, the occasional sun anytime of the day. So, carry waterproof jacket with you if you do mind the rain.
  • You may encounter the nasty midges here and there in Scotland.. Advise is to have a bug spray in your accommodation.
  • Pick up some Scottish words like "wee" and "dram" if you wish to get in tune with the locals there.
  • Cards are widely accepted in towns and cities and you will have fair access to ATMs. However, keep some cash handy in case you plan to traverse into the remote areas of Scotland.
  • Buses and trains are great way of getting around Scotland. Plus, they will save you a lot of money!
